Learn to achieve a likeness with portrait artist, Lin Baum. Lin will help you to develop your eye, your talent, and your creativity in rendering a portrait from life using your chosen medium. If interested in modeling for this class, call Laraine 734-838-1204.

Whether you choose collage, pastel, watercolor, acrylic or oil, Audrey knows them all! Her philosophy is that in this "mixed" class, we'll learn from each other as well as from her valuable experience. Come get creative!

Practice with a live semi-nude model. Lin will include short and long poses for this figure drawing class. Supplies: Good quality drawing pad (your choice of size), 18x 24 newsprint paper, kneaded eraser, charcoal, conte, 4B & HB#2 pencils.

Choose your medium and get ready to do some creative painting in watercolor, acrylic or oil (unscented solvents for oil). Numerous techniques will be introduced and individual exploration and development are encouraged. Classes include lectures, demonstrations and critiques. We will investigate various printmaking techniques-combining the additive process, reductive process, rainbow rolls, relief prints, and stencils on Plexiglass plates, using water soluble inks as well as watercolor paints. We will also explore printing on different paper substrates & chine colle (collage incorporated in printing process). We will get a plate ready for painting and print the first class. Bring to class a work you are currently painting on or start fresh with a blank canvas. Use your own choice of painting reference. Work on developing your painting concept by creating interest with depth, atmosphere, texture and a captivating color palette. Explore various mediums, see what happens when you use them. Many painters have expressed a desire to strengthen their drawing skills so we are offering a 4-week class to meet this need. Drawing is the building block for all art creation. It is about discovery and learning to see, about relationships and designing a space. Click here for SUPPLY LIST.

Students can create a painting from one of Edee's wonderful set-ups, in a realistic or abstract style, trying experimental additions of pastel, pencil, collage, etc., if they feel adventurous. Artists may also choose to work on new individual projects for part or all of the semester. Edee's goal is to teach and mentor students to advance continually in their skills and experiences.
